About

Dr. Madhusudhan MC, has a distinguished academic and professional career in Biotechnology, with a strong emphasis on upstream and downstream processing operations. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR-CFTRI), Mysore, affiliated with Mysore University, in 2014. His doctoral research, entitled "Extraction and purification of selected enzymes using bioprocess integration" guided by Dr. KSMS Raghavarao, Former Director, CSIR-CFTRI, a renowned expert in the field. This work involved advanced bioprocessing techniques for optimizing the production and purification of enzymes, showcasing his strong foundation in bioprocess technology. In addition to his doctorate, Dr. Madhusudhan has carried out his postdoctoral research, mainly focused on the purification and scale-up of bioactive secondary metabolites from plant and fungal sources. He was involved in the standardization and optimization of process conditions for large-scale production using fermentation of endophytes followed by extraction and purification processes. Additionally, enrichment of plant extracts using membrane processing techniques followed by analysing their biological activities. His research work has resulted till date, in 32 research publications and 5 review articles in International journals and 6 book chapters. Part of his research work has been presented in some of the International/National conferences. He has extensive teaching experience, serving as a Faculty in Biotechnology at the Department of Studies in Biotechnology, Manasagangothri, Mysore, for over nine years. His professional experience also includes tenure as a Production Manager at Sanorva Biotech Pvt. Ltd., Mysuru, for 4 years, where he was responsible for product development and training interns and students. Dr. Madhusudhan's expertise encompasses a range of biotechnological techniques, including upstream and downstream processing, solid/liquid phase extraction, membrane processing and bioconjugation. His work has significantly contributed to the field of biotechnology, with significant contributions in the areas of enzyme/protien purification, bioactive metabolite extraction and process optimization for large-scale production.
