  Electronic media/Resources are being increasingly used for various purposes in our day to day life activities. Right know almost libraries are using variety of electronic media in their libraries to reach out to users need. If libraries do not change with time by harnessing new technologies to offer services in innovative ways to meet the changing needs of their patrons, they will become obsolete. This article studies the effect of electronic media on libraries. 

  Digital libraries and knowledge management are Current topics in present information age. The paper focuses the main concepts and ideas of Digital Library and Knowledge Management, and how to realize such ideal environment for users to make the needed knowledge available. Many technologies and precautions are explained for a more effective promotion in the development of the DL.   This paper presents a bibliometric features and characteristics of the journal title “International journal of digital library service”. It is publish four issues per year. This study taken during 2012-2017. All contribution of research papers have been carefully examined to ascertain the year wise distribution of articles authorship pattern, average length of articles, average keywords of articles, subject wise, Institution wise etc. Out of 268 contributions only 100 are single authored and rest by multi authored with degree of collaboration 0.627. 

  The present study deals with the Bibliometric study of the Indian Journal of Experimental Biology (2011-2012). The study based on the bibliometric analysis of 1012 research papers published in two volumes of 24 issues of the Indian Journal of Experimental Biology during 2011 and 2012. The paper discusses the authorship pattern of the contributor, number of articles published in each issue. Also studied the contribution made by organisations. The study also covers the length of each paper and the most prolific contributor to the Indian Journal of Experimental Biology in the year 2011 and 2012. 

  This study is based on the scholarly communications of faculty members at Periyar University as reflected in Social Science Citation Index (SSCI), Science Citation Index (SCI), and Arts and Humanities Citation Index (A & HCI). This paper aims to ascertain the growth and development of scholarly publications published by faculty members from Periyar University as reflected in Web of Science citation database and found a total 703 scientific publications contributed in seven document types in the website. As a whole, the most of the document was peer viewed scholarly journal articles (684), which involved 97.29 per cent and the TLCS was 612 and TGCS was 4469 of the total publications. The other sources are includes review (6; 0.85 per cent), meeting abstract (5; 0.72 per cent), correction (3; 0.43 per cent), Letters (3; 0.43 per cent), proceedings papers (1; 0.14 per cent), editorial materials (1; 0.14 per cent). Even though, the original peer reviewed articles were still significant and focuses the scientometric analysis, but counting the proceedings papers and other source types as well. To evaluate the literature output, the scientometric indicators such as EGR, CAI, RCI etc. have used and Bradford law of scattering used to test the relationship between the zones. 

  Information needs arise when an individual finds himself in a problem situation, when he or she no longer can manage with the knowledge that he or she possess. Library patrons repeatedly find themselves in situations where information is needed, sought and gathered, organized, retrieved, processed, evaluated, and used. The objectives of this study are to examine the information requirements of students in Lagos State University (LASU); to asses both human  and material resources in the library; to determine the level at which the library satisfies the information needs of the users; and to find out best way(s) to meet these information needs of patrons in this ICT age. A Total of (320) library user (students) from different departments and faculties were used as sample. Data were collected through a 20-item questionnaire which was developed based on objectives adopted. 280 dully completed questionnaires were returned in good condition. Data collected were analyzed using frequencies and percentages of responses. The findings revealed that LASU library patrons are more interested in the information related to, teaching, learning and research activities. The investigation also revealed that the attitudes of the respondents were favorable in the use of LASU Library resources but there is the need for improvement in such areas as library services and provision of adequate space for readers. It was found out that majority of the respondents sought information from journals, textbooks, reference books than other library materials. Major obstacles faced by patrons while seeking information included lack of resource sharing facilities and equipments, lack/inadequate ICT skills.
