Utilizing the clay and water in order to give definite shapes for different purposes can be identified as the oldest craft known to human culture. The evidences of this pottery making can be traced from the Neolithic Era with the involvement of various types of traditional knowledge. The making of pottery is an important event of prehistoric past and marked the beginning of Neolithic revolution in human society. Its impact had largely revolutionized the colonization of human groups and found a new way of cultural tradition. In the present day, the pottery industry in India has been put forward as a major cottage industry in both small and big pottery concerns. In a predominantly rural country with a very low income and simple needs, pottery plays an important role. Besides providing employment to artisans, the sector offer job opportunities to non-artisans during slack seasons of agriculture and to other tertiary sector employees. The objective of the present paper is to study the characteristic features of the pottery industry in the study area, problems of development of the sector and suggest suitable policy measures for its development. This study attempted an analysis of pottery production in Srivaikundam village. In this study conclude that the pottery producers are fully satisfied in their profession. As the business environment has become more customers centric, maintaining proper relationship with customer is one of the key factors for the success of every business. To retain customers and attract new customers, innovation should be regular phenomena in business. The pottery producers too have to analysis their environment to make the business sustain and their survival. The present study shows that the pottery industry in the study area is suffering from irregular supply of raw materials, lack of working capital, obsolete technology, lack of diversification of products, competition from the organized sector, good marketing facilities, management problems and lack of research and development efforts etc. The Government and nongovernment initiatives can solve the problem and develop the industries at its best level.

Cybercrime is on the increase everywhere in the world. A large number of people have become victims of the cyber crimes. The awareness among teachers will be an effort to control the crimes and protect the student populace. The present study was conducted to investigate cyber crime awareness among teacher trainees studying at Government Teachers College, Addalaichenai. A normative survey method was adopted on a sample of 200 teacher trainees selected by stratified random sampling technique. The data were collected by using Cybercrime Awareness Scale and Personal Information Schedule. The major findings of the study have revealed that there exists significant differences in cyber crime awareness among teacher trainees with respect to gender, locality, knowledge of computer, and having own computer.

Pregnancy is a natural process that may create some changes in different parts of the body including oral cavity. These changes will lead to oral diseases if enough and timely care of oral cavity is not taken. The oral cavity is an obvious portal of entry to the body and oral health reflects and influences general health and well-being. Maternal oral health has significant implications of birth outcomes and infant oral health. Maternal oral diseases have been associated with preterm birth, development of pre-eclampsia and delivery of a small-for-gestation age infant. Maternal oral flora is transmitted to the newborn infant and increased cariogenic flora in the mother predisposes the infant to the development of caries. Pregnant women have special oral health needs due to hormonal fluctuations (estrogen and progesterone), which have a strong influence on the oral cavity. WHO, World Health Day theme of 1998, “Safe Motherhood Pregnancy is Precious, Let’s make it Special” draws our special attention toward this priority group, which needs special care. Preventive, diagnostic and restorative dental treatment is in safe throughout pregnancy and is effective in improving and maintaining oral health.

Occupational stress has become increasingly common in teaching profession largely because of increased occupational complexities and increased economic pressure on individuals. A major source of distress among teachers is result of failure of school to meet the social needs and job demands of the teachers.

Statement of the problem: A study to assess the level of job strain among school teachers at selected school, Nellikuppam, Kancheepuram District. Objectives: To determine the level of job strain among school teachers and to associate the level of job strain among school teachers with their demographic variables.

Materials and Methods: Quantitative approach and descriptive design was adopted for the study. A total of 50 samples were selected using non probability convenient sampling technique. The tool of the study comprises of 2 Parts, Part A –Demographic Data and Part B - Standardized tool on job strain questionnaire formulated by the Mr. Shailendra Singh which includes 14 questions to assess the level of job strain among school teachers. Data collected were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics.

Results: The findings of the study revealed that, among 50 school teachers, 45 (90%) teachers have moderate level of job strain, 5 (10%) teachers have mild level of job strain and none of them have severe level of job strain. There was significant association between the level of job strain among school teachers with the demographic variables of marital status and type of family.

Conclusion: Most of them had moderate level of job strain.So the investigator helped them to cope up with any stressful situations through an educational approach.

Economic growth in India has been robust over the past period. Though, the caste disparities are cumulative, the condition of schedule caste women in India needs distinct consideration. They are one of the major socially isolated groups anywhere in the world, and make up 2% of the world’s total population. The focus of the paper was to explore the economic empowerment of scheduled caste women workers in Thoothukudi district. The research is based upon primary and secondary data both. The primary data was collected through a questionnaire designed exclusively for the study. The primary data were obtained from 120 scheduled caste women workers of Thoothukudi District using simple random sampling method. For data analysis, percentage analysis, tabulation, averages, standard deviation, t test, chi square test and probability analysis tools are used. The data relates to the month of May 2017. The economic impact of the quality of life of scheduled caste women was found high in the variables namely communication skill, selfhygiene and health, skill up gradation, accessibility of resources, standard of living and child care and child education. The mean score values of these variables are 3.76, 2.53, 3.57, 2.91, 4.14 and 3.75 respectively. The significant difference among the quality of life of scheduled caste women after getting employment by the reservations of seats is found high in all aspects of quality of life except technical guidance, decision making in family, sociability and purchase of assets and self-confidence since its respective’t’ statistic are not significant at 5 per cent level. Schedule caste women are in no way mediocre to other caste people. Government is providing many chances to advance the social, political, economic and educational conditions of schedule caste women.

Introduction of Inclusive Education is a milestone in the path of redesigning the national school curricula in Sri Lanka. In this context, teachers can play big role in implementing inclusion in education in schools. The attitudes of teachers are important to find out how they can work for inclusion of the new approach in education. The objective of the present study is to find out the attitude of teachers towards Inclusive Education in Akkaraipattu Education Zone. 100 teachers working in Akkaraipattu Education Zone were selected as sample by using the technique of stratified sampling. Data were collected from the sample using the tools of Attitude Scale on Inclusive Education and Personal Data Sheets. The findings of the study revealed that most teachers have favorable attitude towards inclusive education. There are significant differences in the attitude teachers towards inclusive education based on gender, locale of the school and type of school.
