Introduction


Dr. A. K. Jaiswal, M.Sc., Ph.D., FIC, FASAW, FISCA, FISROSET has completed his post-graduation and Ph.D. degree in chemistry from Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, U.P., India. Presently he is working as a Chemist, Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. He has worked in several institutions such as the Indian Bureau of Mines, Ministry of Mines, Bangalore, Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology, Gurgaon, National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science (MHA), Delhi at different capacities. He is having a vast experience in handling numerous sophisticated analytical instruments for toxicological screenings for different poisons, chemicals, and drugs from various biological samples. He has also analyzed viscera samples of several high-profile cases monitored by the Honorable Supreme Court of India. He has more than 25 years of research and analytical experience in the field of Forensic Chemistry, Forensic Toxicology, and Analytical Chemistry. He has guided several M.D. and Ph.D. students. He is an Executive Council Member of the Indian Academy of Forensic Science. He is having Life Membership of more than twenty academic and scientific bodies/societies of national and international repute. Dr. Jaiswal is regularly invited as a speaker on various aspects of Forensic Toxicology & Analytical Instrumentation in India and abroad. He has chaired various sessions of National as well as international seminars and conferences.

He has acted as a Technical Assessor for National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). He has received several awards for his research work. He has received fellow membership from different Academic/Scientific bodies such as Fellow Institutions of Chemists (FIS), Fellow Academy of Sciences for Animal Welfare (FASAW), Fellow International Science Congress Association (FISCA), Fellow International Scientific Research Organization for Science, Engineering, and Technology (FISROSET). He was on board of referees of the Indian Police Journal for several years. He has published about 150 research papers in national and international journals/proceedings. He is also editor-in-chief of the Journal of Forensic chemistry and toxicology and International Journal in Forensic Science.
